enter when first running the FlipAlbum program?
The Product ID (PID) should have been included in the invoice email that was
sent to your registered email address if you had purchased the download version,
or on the jewel case if you had purchased the box version.
It should look like XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXXXX. Please take note that the "0"s
are the number zero and not the letter "o".
Q2. Where can I find the Product Activation Key (PAK)
to activate the FlipAlbum version 5.5 program?
If you had previously
installed the FlipAlbum version 5.0 program and are now upgrading it to version
5.5, you do not require the Product Activation Key to activate the FlipAlbum
version 5.5 program. During the software upgrade installation process, click
on the "Remove" button when prompted, to remove your FlipAlbum version

version 5.5 program first time on your new machine, you may retrieve your Product

Q3. I have had no success in using AVI type movies
inside FlipAlbum program, why is it so?
We suspect that your AVI file is compressed using a Codec (MJPG) unavailable
in Windows OS for playback.We suggest that you try downloading MJPEG codec (for
decoding only) from http://www.mainconcept.com/archive/mcjpg30.zip,
and install it on your machine. You should then be able to playback this AVI
Although this installation of Codec will allow you to play this AVI format type,
the AVI file will not be portable to another machine without this codec installed
for playback. Hence, it is encouraged to use other common AVI compression techniques
to create the AVI files, e.g. cinepak, indeo. These AVI format types will be
supported natively by the Windows OS and hence no cause of concern if you want
to share your album online or on a CD.
Q4. How do I burn a FlipAlbum CD to auto-run on other computers?
The steps are as follows:
||Before proceeding, please save your album as Book, complete
(*.opf file + contents).
||Click on CD Maker -> Export Current Flipbook
to CD. The CD Maker function in FlipAlbum creates the following:
||One folder named FlipAlbumCD,
||One file named autorun.inf, and
||One file named startCD.exe.
||Select all 3 files/folders mentioned above, NOT the folder
containing them, for burning to CD. Please make sure that you ONLY see
the above 3 items in the root directory of your CD.
||Proceed to burn the CD
||Burn the CD as a DATA CD.
||Make sure you have selected ISO 9660 Level 2 (Max of 31 chars),
Joliet, and Relax ISO restrictions for pathdepth and characters in path.
||Never permit the CD software to rename any files - if it
is trying to do so you don't have the CD burning software set correctly
(and, if it ever does try to rename files, don't ever turn off the warning
in the future or you will not know it is renaming files!).
||Select No Multisession, and Finalize the CD.
Q5. How do I improve the image quality of FlipAlbum when “Export
If you export your album to MPEG1 format, the quality of the images will
not be as good as the album viewed on the PC, as MPEG1 is the basic Video CD
In order to achieve optimum quality for the Video CD albums that you create,
you may want to design your albums with the following points in mind:
||Do not have too many annotations. Text does not look good
in video format.
||If you do have annotations, try to avoid fonts with straight
||Large font sizes are also encouraged, like point size 28
and above for normal sized fonts.
||Try to choose a darker page and book background. This will
minimize the flickering effect that may occur on some TVs.
||Size of your pictures DOES matter. Whenever possible, use
the centerfold mode for your pictures so that they will occupy as much
of the screen as possible.
If you are still not happy with the image quality of your MPEG1 file,
you can now export your album to AVI format and use any third-party video encoding
tools or DVD burning tools to encode them in MPEG2 format. This feature is

that the FlipViewer program has to be installed before the Netscape program
is installed, and the auto-installation feature will not work when using

Once you have created the desired images using an image editing program, you
can then proceed to add them as themes by following the instructions below:
1. From the Main Menu, click on Tools -> Create Theme.
2. Enter a name for your theme.
3. To set the image for each of the theme element, select the image and click
the 'Add/Edit' button. Alternatively, you can right-click on the image and select
'Add/Edit' menu, or simply double-click on the image.
4. Browse to the folder containing your customized image and click 'Open'. The
theme element will be updated.
5. You can add up to 10 separators.
6. To remove any image, select the image and click the 'Remove' button. Alternatively,
you can right-click on the image and select 'Remove'.
7. Click 'Ok' to save your newly created theme. Your theme will now be added
to the FlipAlbum theme collection.
To apply the newly created theme to your FlipBook, click on Options -> Set
Theme from the Main Menu. You should find your newly created theme in the list
of themes available in the Themes dialog box.
Q9. How do I retrieve my lost Product ID?
There are two ways to retrieve your lost Product ID.
||If you had purchased the download version, or had registered
